No. SpareNumber works entirely over Wi-Fi or mobile data. Your second number lives in the app — no SIM card, no extra device.
Is it a real phone number?
Yes. It's a real number that can call and text other phones — not an internal app-to-app gimmick.
Will people see my real number?
No. Anyone you call or text sees only your SpareNumber. Your real number is never shared with them.
Does it work for calls and texts?
Both. Full calling and SMS, plus voicemail when you can't pick up.
What do I need for it to work?
An internet connection — Wi-Fi or mobile data — and the app. That's it.
Can I choose my number?
Yes, you pick from available local and international numbers when you set up.
How much will it cost?

Can I call emergency services with it?
No — SpareNumber isn't a replacement for your regular phone service and may not support emergency calls (911, 112, etc.). Keep your primary line for that.
